During the summer of 1971 we lived in Cwmbran, Wales,
revisiting there nine years later. This watercolor is not of one
place but a composite of our favorite impressions: the country
pub at Newbridge-on-Usk, narrow lanes enclosed by hedgerows,
rounded green mountains disappearing into the clouds, and how
we imagine the village of Connie's ancestors, Hafod-ty-wyll, in
the shadow of Cadir Idris
