I was at the time the youngest member of the technical staff, and appear at the very back row of the photo (above) alongside Alexander Hamilton Fletcher. Given all the changes in the past 37 years and the way an architects work is implemented there is one very strong connection to that time that for me persists to the present day; and that is I still use a drawing board. I may well be the final generation of architects to do so but many of our clients still like a hand drawn presentation. I owe the acquisition of those skills to many of those in this photo from whom I learnt so much.
